US Open Draw 2012: Men's Singles and Women's Singles Matchups Are Set, Find Out Who Federer, Djokovic and Murray Face in the First Round

The U.S. Open Draw took place at noon and the matches are set for the tournament. 

They took out the chips from the tournament cup of course, Rodger Federer got the first. No. 1 seed. Novak Djokovic was No. 2. 

Murray is seed No. 3. No. 4 went to David Ferrer. No. 5 went to the Frenchman Joe-Wilfried Tsonga. Seed six was Tomas Verdych. Juan Martin del Potro, the Olympic bronze medalist, took the 7th seed. Janko Tipsarevic took the 8th seed. The American No. 9 John Isner No. 10 Juan Monaco.

The Top four competitors first round matchups look like this: Federer faces Donald Young, Djokovic plays Paolo Lorenzi, Murray plays Alex Bogomolov Jr., Ferrer faces Kevin Anderson 

Hypothetically speaking, since Federer has been the most dominant player in tennis this year, he will have to play Murray in semis. If he wants to make the finals. Murray will have to play Tsonga before getting a chance to face Federer. Djokovic gets off easy as he will only have to face one player before getting to the Finals.

In the women's first round matches, No. 1 Victoria Azarenka plays Alexandra Panova. No. 2 seed Agnieszka Radwanksa faces Nina Bratchikova, Maria Sharapova, who is ranked third faces Melinda Czink Serena Williams, who is ranked four, faces Coco Vandeweghe in the first round. 

Before the ceremony, officials said fans can expect to be closer to the U.S. Open action. They mentioned ESPN, CBS, USopen.org as places that will provide televsion coverage of the tournament.

They also promised the U.S. open 2012 will be available to many in different forms of media, television, phones computers. Promised an amazing U.S. Open experience for fans present in the stadium as they will have exciting ceremonies to open and close out the tournament.
