New York City FC and New England Revolution will be playing live on the Major League Soccer schedule and this is the first MLS home game for NYCFC at Yankee Stadium and the game is on ESPN2 and streaming online from the WatchESPN website past 5 pm ET as head coach Jason Kreis tries to get the team its first win.
NYCFC comes in after opening on the road with a draw against Orlando and they now have their first home game as a franchise. The team will visit the Colorado Rapids before playing against Sporting KC at home in their next game at Yankee Stadium and they also have Philly and Portland coming up. NYCFC has one point from one game to start the season and they will be looking to move up in the MLS table standings.
Mix Diskerud scored the first goal for New York and now NYCFC will be trying to keep the Revolution down after New England opened with a loss. The team fell by three goals in a shutout against the Seattle Sounders and they will be looking to bounce back in game two against NYCFC. The two teams are set to play again in July in New England and they will again play in New York in October and that could be during the MLB playoffs.
The Boston-New York rivalry gets another entry with NYCFC and New England meeting for the first time and it will start at the home of the Yankees. Diskerud scored the first goal of the game against Orlando, but NYCFC could not hold on for the win and ended up with a 1-1 draw. The game is a sellout and a major draw at the Stadium and comes ahead of the baseball season.
