Los Angeles Lakers Rumors 2012: Kobe Bryant Credits Healthy Eating and Nutrition Habits to Extend His NBA Career

Now at the age of 34, Los Angeles Lakers All-Star Kobe Bryant reveals healthy habits and nutrition are the cause to why he's lasted so long in the NBA.

Kobe talked about how he began changing his eating habits a few years ago while father time was creeping on his heels:

"My Achilles heel! I only started really focusing on my nutrition a few years ago. I started experiencing low energy and was feeling bloated. Then it hit me: 'Kobe you're not 25 anymore' (I once had pepperoni pizza before scoring 81 points). It was time to adjust, so the struggle began. Lots of veggies, fruits, fish and lean meats."

Sure many of us would have a hard time just changing our diet like that so drastically but Kobe isn't like most people. He changed his diet for the love of the competition and the opportunity to continue to compete at a high level for much longer in the NBA.

The Lakers superstar went on to explain four other healthy habits that has helped him along with way on his journey to win five championships and maintain his status as one of the best players in the NBA.

Kobe stresses other healthy habits like exercising, putting aside time to decompress, helping others and an emphasis on appreciating everything and everyone around you along with practicing good nutrition.
