The battle continues for tight end Charles Clay who is credited as being a nightmare matchup for any opposing defense. The Miami Dolphins put a transition tag on the tight end assuming he would remain in South Beach. However, the Buffalo Bills have different plans, preparing to extend an offer to Clay. Will the deal get done or will Miami win out in the end?

According to Vic Carucci of the Buffalo News, the Bills deal with Clay has about a 90 percent chance of getting done.  The Bills have yet to make an official offer on the tight end, but have been hinting at a deal for over a week now. With the transition tag, Miami would have seven days to match an offer by the Bills and will not get any compensation back if Clay were to leave. The holdup appears to be Buffalo's salary cap situation after they just signed Percy Harvin and acquired LeSean McCoy.

The Miami Herald reports the Dolphins are ready to let Clay go. According to team sources they are losing patience with the tight end and are prepared for him to walk away. In anticipation for a potential exit of Clay, the Dolphins signed Jordan Cameron to a two-year contract and he has all the confidence in the world Miami is now playoff contenders with Ryan Tannehill.

"He's young and he's willing to work," Cameron said, via the team website. "He puts the hours in. They were singing his praises all day today. It was definitely a big part of my decision."

If the Bills miss out on Clay, they could try and make a move for Jermaine Gresham. He would be the best tight end available at this point. The Bills are desperately trying to build up a top offensive unit to help whoever ends up starting at quarterback. EJ Manuel and Matt Cassel are the best options Buffalo has on the roster and the veteran made it clear he expects to contend for the job. According to ESPN.com, Cassel expects a quarterback competition with Manuel after he lost out on his last one against Teddy Bridgewater with the Vikings.

Adding in Clay would give the Bills a solid amount of weapons to work with. Sammy Watkins, Robert Wood, Harvin, Clay and McCoy would make a great unit to compete in their division.
