Miami Dolphins Rumors: Michael Crabtree Contract Likely as DeVante Parker, Phillip Dorsett Drafted? Knowshon Moreno Doubt Makes Todd Gurley, TJ Yeldon Options

The Miami Dolphins are ready to make one replacement on offense after letting go of three wide receivers and gaining one in return. Since the start of the offseason, the Dolphins have said goodbye to Brandon Gibson, Brian Hartline, Mike Wallace and now Charles Clay. They traded for Kenny Stills and signed Jordan Cameron, but they are still lacking at the wide receiver position with just Jarvis Landry returning from last year. However, with free agency winding down the Dolphins are ready to make another move.

According to ESPN's John Clayton, Miami is close to finalizing a deal with Michael Crabtree worth $3.5 million to $4 million. Clayton could not confirm the length of the deal, but given Crabtree's injury history it is not expected to be that long. Crabtree was in for a team visit early this week, but no further reports have surfaced over how that went. Since Crabtree went down to South Beach, the Dolphins let Clay walk away after the Buffalo Bills made an offer on him Miami simply could not match. That could speed along talks for Crabtree who is one of the best remaining free agents on the market.

Getting Crabtree would certainly give Ryan Tannehill another quarterback weapon to work with. He would run well alongside Landry and Stills, but Miami would be wise to draft someone in a later round. Miami will not be a team that drafts a wide receiver early, but they could end up snagging players like Phillip Dorsett who played for the Hurricanes in college. Chris Conley is getting a lot of attention on the open market. If they wanted to draft early, DeVante Parker will be the next taken off the board after Amari Cooper and Kevin White. Sammie Coates could be good as well.

There is also the question of the running back position and Knowshon Moreno. The Dolphins have yet to give any indication of what they intend to do with the running back that spent most of his one-year contract with the team injured. They have given no indications they want him back and could target his replacement in the draft since the best available options are Stevan Ridley and Pierre Thomas. Getting someone like Todd Gurley, TJ Yeldon or Melvin Gordon would be a nice addition to the backfield with Lamar Miller. Tannehill needs all the offensive weapons he can get and the running back position is certainly one of them.
