Boston Celtics News 2012: Rajon Rondo Wants To Be The Best Celtic Point Guard In Franchise History

Aug 28, 2012 09:14 PM EDT

Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo is already an NBA champion and a three-time All-Star, but he wants to go down as one of the best Celtics ever.

"It is kinda too early to place my mark on where I am in Celtic history as a point guard," Rondo said in an interview with ABS-CBN News. "But hopefully, by the time I finish my career, I'd be the best to ever play for the Celtics."

Though Rondo is widely considered as one of the best point guards in the NBA today, he still has a lot of work to do if he wants to be the best player in the Celtics' history.

"In five years, I'll be 31 (years old). Hopefully, I have at least, and I say at least, two more championships. Maybe one. You never know," he said. "I expect to win every year I play.

"We have the talent... The team we have, the talent that surround me, the coaching staff, the organization, we expect to win a championship every year," Rondo said.

Currently, Rondo holds the Celtics' franchise record for most assists in a season, with 794 dimes during the 2009-10 campaign. He also holds the franchise record for most steals, with 189 in the same season.

During the 2011 playoffs, Rondo dished out a franchise record 20 assists against the New York Knicks.
