The NC State Wolfpack and Louisville Cardinals are playing live on the NCAA Tournament schedule on Friday night for the Sweet 16 and the game is live on TBS starting up on TV past 7:37 pm ET at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse and the matchup is streaming from the March Madness website online as the ACC teams matchup and Rick Pitino will be looking to get his team to the Elite Eight.
The Cardinals come into the game after winning against Northern Iowa and now they are playing against a team from their own conference. Louisville is the four seed and NC State is the eight in the East region and these teams now have the chance to get into the Elite Eight from the ACC. Louisville went 12-6 in the conference this season and they come in averaging 70 points per game and they have a strong defense, ranking 17th in the nation in points per game allowed.
Terry Rozier led the way with 25 points and seven assists in the last matchup and the team also got six rebounds from Wayne Blackshear. Those two players will have to keep that up for Louisville to keep things going and they could end up facing Kentucky down the line in the bracket. Louisville has lost to NC State already this season with a Valentine's Day matchup and that was by nine points and now the teams face off again.
Louisville comes into things have won three of four games overall and that included a loss against UNC and win over Virginia to finish the season. The team had won three straight before losing to Norte Dame and before that they had lost two in a row, including one to the Wolfpack. NC State comes into the game after upsetting the number one seed in this region with a win over Villanova and they are becoming the Cinderella team of the tournament.
The team is averaging 70 points per game and they come in having won five of the last six games apart from a loss against Duke in the ACC tournament. The team had won six of seven games before that loss and it included a win over ranked Louisville and also against North Carolina. Now the team has Louisville again and they will be ready.
The other matchups on Friday apart from this game with NC State and Louisville have UCLA playing Gonzaga, while Michigan State and Oklahoma is the late game. The other matchup is Duke and Utah and that will be on CBS. The games on Thursday saw Wisconsin win over North Carolina, while Arizona came out on top of Xavier. The Wildcats won over West Virginia by a huge margin and now Kentucky comes into the Elite Eight as the favorites and they remain undefeated. Notre Dame plays against the Wildcats and it comes after they outlasted Wichita State.
