Sunderland vs. Newcastle United Live Stream: Watch Online English Premier League Match

Apr 05, 2015 10:52 AM EDT

Sunderland and Newcastle United are playing on Sunday at the Stadium of Light on the English Premier League schedule and the match starts at 11 am ET and has TV coverage on the NBC Sports Network and it will be streaming online from the NBCSN Live Extra website for the Tyne-Wear derby as the EPL season pushes towards the end.

Sunderland comes in with Lee Cattermole playing after being out for a two game suspension and that will be helpful as they try and hold at home. Sunderland also will have Billy Jones, but the team will not have Wes Brown, Will Buckley and Emanuele Giaccherini in the lineup for the match. Sunderland comes in having won four games in a row against Newcastle and they could push that to seven games unbeaten without losing on Sunday.

The Black Cats have not been able to win back to back home games in top competition against the team in decades and that adds more intrigue. Sunderland is down on the Premier League table, while Newcastle has the 13th position this week. Chelsea comes in at first in the Premier League table and they are leading Arsenal, Manchester United and Man City in the standings.

Sunderland has not won in the last eight games and they have not been playing well in the Premier League either. The team beat Newcastle in the reverse fixture of this series and the team has only had one win since that against Burnely and this is chance to get things going in the right direction. The Black Cats have scored just one goal over the last six EPL games and that puts pressure on them for Sunday as well. Newcastle comes into the game having lost four of the last five league matchups.

The team has only had five points away in the last nine matchups on the road and they have to find a way to get things going in the right direction. Newcastle comes in after a loss at home against Arsenal and they previously also lost to Everton and Man United, which was also at home. The team was beaten bad by Man City with a 5-0 game and the team draw with Crystal and Stoke before that.
