The PGA Tour heads back to the Midwest for the 2012 BMW Championship at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Indiana from Thursday, September 6 to Sunday, September 9.
Television coverage of the event can be found on Golf Channel and NBC and there will at least 18 hours of TV coverage over the four-day span.
Established in 2007, this event replaced the Western Open and is only open to the top 70 PGA Tour golfers.
With the conclusion of the event, the top 30 FedEx Cup points leaders advance to The Tour Championship to determine the FedEx Cup Champion. In 2007, the first year of the tournament, Tiger Woods set the tournament record score of 262, or -22 to par.
Defending champion of the event is Justin Rose, who won the event with a score of -13. Day 1 will start with Tim Clark, Ben Curtis, Bryce Molder, Ian Poulter, Jimmy Walker, and Mark Wilson teeing off at 11:15 a.m. ET and end with Ben Crane, Charley Hoffman, Dicky Pride, and Charl Schwartzel at 1:16 p.m. ET. The purse for the event is $8 million with the winner earning $1.44 million.
