The Red Sox come in after a win against the Nationals and they will face off against Strasburg and they will have Justin Masterson on the mound, making his first start in Boston in a while. The Red Sox are in first place in the AL East and they come in after a win against the Nationals and they also won two of three against the Yankees. The team lost on Sunday night, but they knocked around the Yanks and they also scored nine runs against the Nats.
The Red Sox reportedly had some interest in Jordan Zimmermann during the offseason and the teams could pick back up on that again soon at the trade deadline. The Nationals have not been great to start the season, as they are just 2-5, but many expect the team to be there at the end. The team has Strasburg on the mound and they want him to get going.
Masterson comes in after having a solid start for the Red Sox in his first game and the Nats have not yet been hitting with men in scoring position. Ian Desmond doesn't have a hit in the last three games and he needs to get going for the Nationals in the lineup. The Red Sox are off to a solid start and they are looking to match the 2006 season with six wins in the first eight games.
Mookie Betts is off to a good start and he comes in after hitting a home run and robbing one in the same game. Masterson had a strong run at Fenway when he was with the Red Sox in the past, but when he was with the Indians he was not as effective. Masterson will now get back on the mound and he is 1-0 this season with a 3.00 ERA and he had seven strikeouts in six innings.
Hanley Ramirez had been off to a strong start after hitting home runs in the opening game of the season and Strasburg comes in looking to bounce back. Strasburg lost against the Mets and gave up six runs and three of those were earned. Strasburg is going to be key for the Nats this season.
