Do not miss the live action as David Ferrer and Janko Tipsarevic meet in the Men's Singles Quarterfinals at the 2012 U.S. Open in Queens, New York.
Both players' chances of winning the tournament increased after the defeat of Roger Federer on Wednesday night. Both players will meet in Arthur Ashe Stadium a little after 1:30 pm ET.
Both players are searching for their first Grand Slam title. For some reason, Tipsarevic has had his best luck at the U.S. Open. Last year he made it to the quarterfinals and this year he has a chance to advance into the semifinals. He comes into the tournament as the No. 8 ranked player in Men's Singles.
He first defeated Guillaume Rufin after trailing the first two sets. He rallied back in the final three sets 6-2, 6-3, 6-2, to advance into the second round.
Tipsarevic then defeated Brian Baker of the USA 6-4,6-3, 6-4. He went through Grega Zemlija 6-4, 6-3, 7-5 and most recently, he went through Philipp Kohlschreiber (19) 6-3, 7-6, 6-2.
For Ferrer, it is another appearance in the Men's Singles quarterfinals this year in a Grand Slam tournament. He went to the quarterfinals in both the Australian Open and Wimbledon. He had more success at the French Open where he made it all the way to the semifinals.
David Ferrer has quietly worked his way into the quarterfinals in the 2012 U.S. Open and he has put in a lot of work in some sets. He beat Kevin Anderson in straight sets 6-4, 6-2 and 7-6. Ferrer struggled a bit in the last set of his second match against Igor Sijsling, but won 6-2, 6-3, 7(14)-6(12).
It took him four sets to beat American Lleyton Hewitt 7(11)-6(9), 4-6, 6-3, 6-0. In his last victory he defeated Frenchman Richard Gasquet 7-5, 7-6, 6-4.
