Russia and Northern Ireland will meet in the qualifiers for the World Cup 2014 Brasil taking place and beginning on Thursday at 11 a.m. ET.
Russia will host the match in Moscow as both countries will clash in a Group F
Northern Ireland will hit the field led by Steven Davis, Chris Brunt, Jonny Evans, Craig Cathcart and Aaron Hughes.
The nation has not qualified for the World Cup since 1986 and has participated in three total Cups including 1958 and 1982. They first began competing for FIFA World Cup qualifiers in 1950. Northern Ireland's best performance came in 1958 when they reached the quarterfinals.
For Russia, their head coach Fabio Capello will attempt to lead the nation in his return to international competition.
Russia and Northern Ireland make up the Group F pool, which also includes Israel, Portugal, Luxembourg, and Azerbaijan.
This six nations will battle it out for the top spots of the pool and attempt to make the cut for the World Cup, which will be hosted by Brazil in 2014.
