Miami Dolphins Rumors: Amari Cooper, Kevin White Trade Up Option for Jarvis Landry, Kenny Stills Trio? DeVante Parker, Todd Gurley Targets with Ryan Tannehill Contract

As the Miami Dolphins kick off voluntary workouts, lingering holes on the offense continue to be brought into question. As the team prepares to give Ryan Tannehill a contract extension before Week 1 of the 2015 season they still need to add pieces to help make him successful. As Jordan Cameron and Kenny Stills report for workouts, are the Dolphins ready to trade up for another top wide receiver?

The Dolphins will make their first pick at the No. 14 spot. They have looked at all of the top wide receivers in the draft while also bringing in big-named running backs like Todd Gurley and Melvin Gordon for workouts. Both positions are still a need for Miami, so which one gets the priority?

According to Rob Rang of NFLDraftScout.com, the Miami Dolphins want a wide receiver and they want one of the best including either Amari Cooper or Kevin White. However, drafting at No. 14 will not get the team either one of those players. Rang writes that the Dolphins could be poised to jump into the top five picks in order to select a wide receiver in the draft. The Dolphins would likely have to strike a deal with either the Oakland Raiders or Jacksonville Jaguars if they want someone like Cooper while White will go to the Redskins or Chicago Bears in the top seven picks.

Miami has a rotation of Stills, Cameron and Jarvis Landry as the main pass catchers. They got rid of Mike Wallace, Brian Hartline, Brandon Gibson and Charles Clay. The wide receiver spot must take priority and since the team let all of the free agents walk away with a contract, a rookie is the only option. The Dolphins could wait to address the running back spot in a later round with players like TJ Yeldon, Duke Johnson or Ameer Abdullah to backup Lamar Miller and replace Knowshon Moreno.

Many wonder why the Dolphins failed to sign a wide receiver in free agency after bringing in almost every option for a visit. According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, the Dolphins are feeling the weight of the contract given to Ndamukong Suh as he sits heavily on the salary cap. Suh signed one of the biggest contracts in free agency and it has since prevented the Dolphins from retaining players like Clay and Wallace. The Dolphins are confident it will not factor in to the negotiations for Tannehill who will get a deal over $100 million.
