Manchester City and Aston Villa are playing live on the English Premier League schedule on Saturday and the matchup from Etihad Stadium comes at 12:30 pm ET and the game is on the NBC Sports Network and NBCSN Live Extra website as Manuel Pellegrini tries to keep his team in the EPL top four as the season gets close to ending.
Man City comes in at the fourth spot on the table and the team has Wilfried Bony, David Silva and James Milner back and that should be big for the team. Man City comes in down Vincent Kompany, Gael Clichy, Samir Nasri and Stevan Jovetic and that could cause some issues, as the team has not been as strong at home as they were last season.
Man City beat down Aston Villa the last time the two teams played here and that was big as the team won the title last year. Man City had the chance to win two in a row, as they were close to the Blues in the standings for a stretch, but now they need a miracle to get that done. The team is in the top four and they are leading Liverpool by a nice stretch, but they likely are too far from the top to win again.
The club has the chance to finish in the top three and that is the main goal for the team, while Aston Villa comes in after winning over Liverpool in the FA Cup and that could give them some momentum moving forward. City has won the last seven home games against Aston Villa and they have allowed only two goals in that time while scoring over 20.
The team has won four straight games in the EPL at the Etihad and now they go for five and they are trying to avoid losing three matches in one month. The team has the most goals over Chelsea despite being where they are in the table and they are hoping for a good match here and Yaya Toure is looking for his third straight game scoring a goal against Aston Villa.
Villa has Christian Benteke coming in hot, scoring nine goals in his last seven games for the team and they could use him on Saturday. AV is down at number 15 on the table and they are looking to have a better finish after a tough season, as they do not want to tie their lowest total in the Premier League on points. Man City has been scoring quite a bit and they come in after putting in two against West Ham last week and they lost against Man United the week before that.
