Jim Calhoun will have his press conference at 2 p.m. where he will announce his retirement.
He is a coaching legend who headed the Connecticut Huskies for 26 years and won three national championships.
Calhoun turned 70 in May and has survived cancer three times in his life. He beat prostate cancer in 2003 and survived skin cancer twice. As of late, his physical lifestyle has taken a hit after falling of a bike and breaking five ribs in 2009.
With 873 wins, Calhoun was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2005.
Calhoun had the privilege, or vise versa, of coaching NBA players like Richard Hamilton, Emeka Okafor, Ben Gordon, Ray Allen and most recently, Kemba Walker.
He won his last national championship in 2011 as Walker led the Huskies to an unprecedented 11 consecutive victories, the Big East title and the championship.
Kevin Ollie, an assistant of Calhoun, is set to take over the program following the retirement of one of the most decorated coaches in NCAA history.
Ollie played for Calhoun back in the 90's. He had a 13-year career in the NBA and played for 11 teams. His longest tenure with an NBA team was with the Philadelphia 76ers from 2004-2008.
