NFL Picks Week 2 Predictions: Steelers Among 4 Teams that Will Get First Wins of the Season in AFC (Opinion)

Sep 14, 2012 12:32 PM EDT

The Green Bay Packers already got their first win of the 2012 season. Now, we will look at teams that should pick up their first win in the AFC entering Sunday's matchups as Week 2 rolls along.

New York Jets vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
The honeymoon looks to be over for the Jets who have been flying high after their offensive explosion in Week 1 against the Bills. They will face a Steelers team that is searching for their first win of the season. The Steel Crew is back at home in front of their devoted fans. Immediately, things look bleak for the Jets. They are on the road and they face a great defensive team. The Steelers were beaten by a fresh Peyton Manning, but Mark Sanchez has a long way to go before he earns the respect garnished by No. 18. Steelers win 27-16.

Cleveland Browns vs. Cincinnati Bengals
This is a tough pick that ends up rolling on the Bengals' side the more I give it thought. The Browns have a tough defense, but they cannot score. They had four picks despite giving up 456 yards of total offense. Andy Dalton, though a rookie and as a pure quarterback, he will not make the same passing errors Michael Vick makes time and time again. The Browns' offense still has plenty of holes. There will be some deep launches in this one. Bengals win 23-13.

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills
The Bills were simply out played against the Jets, but many overlook the fact that, despite Ryan Fitzpatrick's three interceptions, the team put up 28 points on the board. The Chiefs were also blown out, but they mustered 24 points against the Falcons. Since Fitzpatrick will not turn the ball over so much in this battle, I have the Bills scoring 30 and holding the Chiefs to 26 points for the victory.

Oakland Raiders vs. Miami Dolphins
This will probably be the least captivating match of the day unless you're a Raiders or Dolphins fans. Wait, is there such a thing as a Dolphins' fanbase? Anyways, the Raiders possess the more potent team. The Dolphins never had a chance against the Houston Texans last week. The Raiders and Carson Palmer should be able to get past the Dolphins and I predict a 20-13 victory.
