NFL Free Agent Rumors: Chris Johnson, James Jones, Wes Welker, Michael Vick Options For Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Browns, Seattle Seahawks?

The NFL free agent market has some notable names left with Chris Johnson, James Jones, Wes Welker, Reggie Wayne, Jermaine Gresham, Michael Vick, Matt Flynn, Osi Umenyiora, Dwight Freeney, John Abraham, Ahmad Bradshaw, Pierre Thomas and Steven Jackson and teams like the Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills could be potential landing spots.

The New England Patriots could be in the market for a free agent quarterback, as they could be without Tom Brady for the first four games of the season. According to Pro Football Talk, the Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks may look at free agent running backs on the market ahead of training camp, while the Cleveland Browns could add a wide receiver. The Browns signed Dwayne Bowe and Brian Hartline already, but with Josh Gordon out, they could look for more depth moving forward.

Chris Johnson is one of the notable running backs on the market along with Steven Jackson and Pierre Thomas. According to ESPN Dallas, Johnson said that he would like to play for the Cowboys, but right now the running back "is not on the radar" for the team. The Cowboys did not draft a running back and while the team has said that they are satisfied with Darren McFadden as the feature back, they could add someone like Johnson for insurance.

The Cowboys also have Joseph Randle and Lance Dunbar on the roster and Ryan Williams is a potential option to get playing time as long as he stays healthy. Johnson was let go by the Jets and he could be a potential fit for teams despite having a down season in New York. Johnson has expressed interest in playing in Dallas, but if that doesn't work out, other teams could look at adding him. The Seattle Seahawks have Christine Michael and Robert Turbin behind Marshawn Lynch, but they could look at adding someone like Johnson or Pierre Thomas for depth heading into offseason workouts.

Johnson comes in after rushing for 633 yards last season and that was the first sub 1000 yard season of his career. Johnson only scored one touchdown and despite playing in all 16 games he had just 155 carries and now he remains on the free agent market. Getting shot in the offseason is never a good way to get teams interested, but Johnson has been working out and all medical reports have him healthy for the season.

James Jones could be a solid option for teams like the Browns, Seahawks, 49ers, Vikings or Patriots, as those teams could be interested in a wide receiver. Wes Welker had some interest from the Dolphins and Jones could have been an option as well, but the team added Greg Jennings already and just drafted DeVante Parker. Jones comes in after having a solid season with the Raiders, making 73 catches for 666 yards and six touchdowns, but he was eventually released after the team signed Michael Crabtree.

Michael Vick reportedly has "multiple" teams interested, according to Chris Chambers, who Pro Football talk reported was working out with the QB. The Patriots could be an option if they want a backup for Jimmy Garoppolo, while the Buffalo Bills also could be a fit, as Rex Ryan coached Vick in New York and the team may release EJ Manuel.
