Vince Young Broke: Stupid Ways QB Star Spent His Money vs. the Smarter Options

Sep 20, 2012 02:29 PM EDT

Okay, I am no financial advisor or accountant, but Vince Young blew money in very dumb ways. The people over at Bossip.com created a slideshow of how Vince Young wasted his money. Young gave Rick Ross' B.M.F. new meaning, "Blow Money Frivolously."

Here we have three of the things Young spent money on recklessly and we give the better options. We do not change his lifestyle, but instead find a wiser alternative.

It is reported that Young spent $600 on shots of Louis XIII, Remy Martin's top of the line cognac.

SUGGESTION: Now let's see. $600 for shots of a bottle that is retailed at abour $2,000. That is a lot of money for the average alcohol consumer, but with four shots of Young could have bought a bottle, taken it home and split it amongst himself and his buddies with $400 left over to satisfy his cheesecake obsession.

Yes, I said cheesecake obsession. Had you opened up a Cheesecake Factory around Young's neighborhood, you could have paid the utilities and rent just by having him as your costumer. Young supposedly spent $5,000 on cheesecake every week.

SUGGESTION: Let's do the math. 5,000 x 52=  $260,000! With that money you can hire a cheesecake chef yourself and just have him hanging around in your kitchen. Or just buy the ingredients and learn how to do it yourself!

This one I do not understand and is probably the worst way to spend money. Young bought every ticket on a Southwest Airline flight because he wanted to be by himself.

SUGGESTION: I can't be mean about this one because maybe Young was in one of his low moments since at one point the quarterback wanted to take his life. However, maybe renting a house by the shore would have done the trick and would have had the same effect as getting away and being by himself.

However broke Vince Young is, gets or will be, he will always be remembered for the nine-yard run that gave the Texas Longhorns the lead late in the game against USC in the Rose Bowl. He had a record breaking performance in that game back in 2006. He may not have panned out to be the quarterback everybody expected him to be in the NFL, but Young had it all in college.

He then had a chance to have it all as a pro, in terms of financial means, but the footballer was not smart about his investments or about his lifestyle.
