Seattle Seahawks Rumors: Russell Wilson, Michael Bennett Holdout for Contract? Bruce Irvin, Bobby Wagner Trade Options as Marshawn Lynch, Robert Turbin Battle

The downfall of success for the Seattle Seahawks is the demand of more money from the players on the roster. The team is dealing with plenty of contract situations at the moment as several key players either having expiring deals or want more money than they are already making. As negotiations stall out, repercussions could be felt in the coming months as holdouts could be the headline of the offseason during OTAs and training camp.

All eyes are on Russell Wilson as he prepares to become one of the highest paid players in the league entering the final year of his contract. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, negotiations are not going well on that end especially after the contract Ryan Tannehill signed with the Miami Dolphins. The Seattle Times reported that Wilson along with Jimmy Graham and Michael Bennett were not at the first day of OTAs for the Seahawks. However, fear not fans, it was not because of contract issues. Team sources are reporting Wilson and Graham missed practice to attend a funeral in Florida and are expected back in Seattle soon.

Bennett is a different story. The defensive end is not happy in Seattle as Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com reports Bennett wants a new contract or trade from the team. Bennett is seeking a change to the four-year, $28.5 million contract he signed in March of 2014. According to La Canfora, Bennett wants to become one of the highest-paid defensive players in the league, but the Seahawks are not expected to budge on a new deal. So Bennett can be expected to become a holdout potentially up until training camp.

Bobby Wagner and Bruce Irvin are also seeking contracts. Wagner made it clear he would love to sign a contract extension soon as he heads into the final year of his deal. According to the linebacker via the Seattle Times he has "heard nothing so until I get something to sign then I haven't heard nothing." Wagner is clearly not happy, but is not holding out of practice at least for the time being.

Add Irvin to the list of players not happy with Seattle. The defensive end made headlines when BlackSportsOnline.com reported Irvin told media at an Atlanta Hawks game that he plans to play for the Falcons in 2016, reuniting with former coordinator Dan Quinn. The Seahawks have stressed that just because Irvin's fifth-year option was decline does not mean they are unwilling to re-sign him in free agency. However, Irvin is not thrilled over his status with the team and might seek a change regardless.
