It's that time of the week to predict what might go down on Sunday. Three possible upsets feature possible losses by the Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears and Houston Texans.
Houston Texans vs. Denver Broncos
Peyton Manning is pissed off. He might not show it, but inside he is probably burning with fury after throwing three interceptions against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday, digging his Broncos into a deep hole early.
Manning owns the Texans, but he owns a Texans team that was weak in the past. However, being that Manning is Manning, if the Denver Broncos defense can keep them close and the ball is in Manning's hands in a close game late in the fourth, the Broncos can pull off a victory.
St. Louis Rams vs. Chicago Bears
There is turmoil in Chicago. Well, more like teammates making up to each other for the way they handled frustrations in their loss to the Green Bay Packers last Thursday night. Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall were not in sync and the Bears looked like a below average team. Cutler hit the deck seven times in that game and was unable to pull the trigger as his linemen did not allow him enough time to pass.
The St. Louis Rams are coming off a big win against the Washington Redskins. Yes, they gave up 28 points. Yes, their defense is subpar, but if the Bears get caught up in a shootout with the Rams and they lose their demeanor the way the Redskins did, then we might be in for an upset.
Sam Bradford is not Aaron Rodgers, but he can cut up any defense that slacks. He and wide receiver Danny Amendola are guiding this team on offense. Amendola has 230 yards receiving with a touchdown in the first two games of the season. If the Bears sleep, the Rams will put up big numbers.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Dallas Cowboys
The Bucs almost pulled it off against the Giants. They gave Eli Manning a headache last Sunday. The Dallas Cowboys are finally going to play in front of a home crowd, but if there is any team in the NFL that knows how to disappoint their fan base it is the Cowboys.
Josh Freeman showed he can be deadly with Vincent Jackson on the outside and at one point Freeman let it fly so much he actually overthrew Jackson. Tony Romo cannot get careless, he might not get sacked, but he will have to make precise throws. The Bucs' passing numbers on defense will be bloated for a while after the Giants' game, but their running defense is No. 3 in the NFL, which will force Romo to be at the top of his game.
