West Ham host Wigan in the third round of the Capital One Cup on Tuesday hoping to extend their unbeaten record at the Boleyn Ground this season.
The Hammers progressed to the last 32 of the competition with a 2-0 win over Crewe Alexandra with goals from Nicky Maynard and Modibo Maiga while their last Premier League clash saw them draw 1-1 with Sunderland.
West Ham have no new injury concerns but are still without on-loan striker Andy Carroll (hamstring) and are also without Jack Collison (knee). Yossi Benayoun should be in line to make his first start since returning and striker Modibo Maiga could also make the starting lineup.
Wigan are expected to give some of their younger players the chance to impress, as is the usual fashion in Cup encounters. Callum McManaman and Ryo Miyaichi came off the bench over the weekend in their defeat to Fulham to put in positive performances and both could be handed starts.
Wigan have never met West Ham in the League Cup before, but the Hammers have won both of the previous FA Cup fixtures that the pair have played. The Latics are attempting to reach the fourth round for the third time in five years but have lost on the last four occasions they have drawn fellow Premier League opposition in this competition. Wigan have won three and lost seven of their last 10 League Cup matches away from home and have not beaten West Ham at Upton Park in their last 3 visits there.
Expected starting line ups:
West Ham: Stephen Henderson, Guy Demel, Joey O'Brien, Winston Reid, James Collins, Yossi Benayoun, Matthew Taylor, James Tomkins, Matthew Jarvis, Modibo Maíga, Ricardo Vaz Te
Wigan Athletic: Michael Pollitt, Ivan Ramis, Antolín Alcaraz, Stam, Maynor Figueroa, Ben Watson, Callum McManaman, Fyvie, Albert Crusat, Ryo Miyaichi, Mauro Boselli
