New York City FC star David Villa could be going on loan to the English Premier League for Manchester city next year when the MLS is off and EPL schedule is going, although sources have said that a move for Villa is unlikely with how things stand at this time.
Villa is the designated player for New York City FC and on Monday there were conflicting reports that Villa could go on loan to sister club Man City. According to Pro Soccer Talk, the Manchester Evening News reported that Villa is "happy" with his situation and would be okay with a loan to Manchester City while the Major League Soccer schedule is in the offseason.
Later in the day Pro Soccer Talk updated the report after Joe Prince wrote on Twitter that sources reported that there is "no chance" Villa will play for Man City on loan. The Frank Lampard situation likely will play into the decision making process and even if the move is denied now, things could change by next year.
Villa previously played in Australia to start things off after signing him New York City FC deal and he could be a mid-season addition depending on how things develop for Man City and NYCFC. New York is currently at the bottom of the MLS standings in the east and they have two wins on the season with 11 points earned.
