It has been reported that the NFL and the NFL Referees Association are close to wrapping up the lock at as things are beginning to get worked out. According to ESPN.com, both sides have reached an accord in principle.
"An agreement in principle is at hand, according to one source familiar to talks, although NFL owners have postured with a 'No more compromise' stance."
Sources believe it would take the locked out NFL officials about a week to get them back on the field as they are still training and getting a grasp for the new rules added to the game this past season.
The demand for the locked out referees came to a roar after Monday Night Football's controversial end. The NFL backed up the officiating on Tuesday, but fans were clearly upset.
The Green Bay Packers were practically stripped from a win on Monday. Apparently only officials and the league thought the Seahawks clearly came down with the catch.
There was even a disparity between the referees' decision as the two referees closest to the play made different calls. One waived his hands signaling the touchback and turnover, while the other interpreted the play as a touchdown.
The replay showed one thing, but even after the review the touchdown stood.
