Victor Anichebe, Seamus Coleman and Steven Naismith are doubtful for the match. Tony Hibbert and midfielder Darron Gibson are still out.
Southampton has midfielder Jack Cork with a knee injury. The 23-year-old has been banged up all season. He had just returned from an ankle injury before going down with the knee.
