The San Francisco Giants and the Los Angeles Dodgers are once again battling to be one of the best teams in the National League West as they continue with another series. Right now, the Giants continue the season-long success against the team as they try for a fifth-straight win over the Dodgers. The Giants have enjoyed playing on the road this entire season and it is no different in Dodgers' stadium.
The Giants faltered in the first set of games on their five-game road trip, but bounced back with two wins that saw the team put up 16 runs total. The Giants have 176 runs on the road which ranks them third in the league while they have just 105 at home. They continue to inch closer to the Dodgers who are leading the National League West at the moment, but the Giants have an 8-2 edge.
To keep momentum moving, Tim Hudson will take the mound as he is 4-6 with a 4.65 ERA on the season. Hudson has struggled this year while being 0-2 with a 2.95 ERA at Dodgers Stadium. He has a 9.64 ERA in his last three home starts while failing to make it past six innings in his last two outings. He will face Yasiel Puig who is just 2 for 21 with six strikeouts in five games. Meanwhile, Buster Posey is thriving with a grand slam and a .421 battling over the Dodgers.
The Dodgers have lost five of their last seven while barely getting more than four runs. The team will try and change momentum as Carlos Frias takes the mound with a 4.14 ERA. He held the Giants to just one run the last time he faced them. In his last start, he gave up four runs and walked three in five innings while giving up just one run in six-plus innings back at the start of June. The dodgers just snapped a 32-innings scoreless streak against the Giants which they hope is the momentum turn they need.
