Steven Gerrard said he is loving life at Liverpool and wants to extend his stay at Anfield for a few more years, while Joe Allen expressed his admiration for Luis Suarez.

Gerrard has 18 months remaining on his current contract, but after making a good start to the season this year, playing in all of six of Liverpool's English Premier League games, the Liverpool captain said he is feeling as strong as he has ever felt.

"I am contracted for another 18 months or so," he told Sky Sports News. "I am really happy. I am enjoying my football. I feel physically strong.

"I want to go on for as long as I can. I love playing for the club. I am captain. I am living the dream. I do not want that to end. Hopefully I can play and contribute in this new regime under Brendan Rodgers, because it is very exciting."

Liverpool got their first win in the Premier League with a 5-2 hammering of Norwich City Saturday, and Gerard believes it is just the start of bigger things under new manager Brendan Rodgers.

"It gives you huge confidence and belief when moving into the next games," he said. "But we knew, as players, if we kept listening to the manager and listening to the messages he was putting across, the first win was only round the corner.

"It should have come against Manchester United the week before. It should have come against Manchester City three or four weeks ago.

"If we keep playing the way we are playing and keep showing the same effort and determination, there will be many more wins just around the corner."

Meanwhile, Allen, who joined Rodgers from Swansea in the summer, said he is in awe of Liverpool's prime striker Suarez, who scored a hat-trick against Norwich. "It's a privilege to be able to play alongside Luis," Allen told the Liverpool Echo. "I'm just grateful he's on my team.

"When you're out there playing alongside him, you just have to be in awe of a performance like that. The goals, some of the things he did, not many people in world football can do. He's got everything you need to be a top-class striker and I'm excited about the season he's going to have for this team.

"We mentioned before the game about the fact he got a hat-trick against them last season. The fans at Carrow Road must be happy to see the back of him."

Allen said he was enjoying playing with the likes of Gerrard and Nuri Sahin, with the trio dominating the midfield against Norwich. "The three of us really enjoy playing together," Allen said. "We've all got that similar sort of style in terms of passing.

"The passing and movement was good and that meant we were able to control large parts of the game. It was a great way to get that first league win and we felt that it's been coming for a while. Despite a few disappointing results, we haven't been playing badly.

"We haven't had that bit of luck at times when we've needed it but we've just kept working and concentrated solely on ourselves. This is where our seasons starts really. We have to kick on from here. If we keep performing like that then it will be the first win of many.

"With the talent we've got in the team we know that if we give it everything then there's not many teams who can stop us."
