The day many people dread or look forward to is finally here, the Oakland Athletics and Texas Rangers will meet in the final game of the year as both teams can win the American League West.
The Athletics tied the division yesterday after winning 3-1. They received timely hits from Derek Norris and Jonny Gomes to get the win and pull up in a tie.
The Rangers are struggling at the end of the season and will turn to veteran and mid-summer acquisition, Ryan Dempster, to get them out of this hole. He will oppose youngster A.J. Parker.
This game will be the biggest game for both teams. The winner will take the division and the loser will have to play a Wild Card one-game playoff against possibly the Baltimore Orioles. The A.L. East has not been clinched either. A win by the New York Yankees gives them the division.
A's closer Grant Balfour predicted a win for his team. They are on fire. They have a good pitcher on the mound. Why not make a quick prediction?
First pitch is a little after 3:35 p.m. ET/12:35 p.m. PT. Click here for the live stream of the A's vs. Rangers.
