The undefeated Arizona Cardinals a trying to improve to 5-0 when they take on the St. Louis Rams at the Edward Jones Dome for Thursday Night Football action at 8:20 p.m. ET.

The recent stellar play of quarterback Kevin Kolb, who has completed 62.6 percent of his passes while throwing seven touchdowns and two interceptions, can be credited with the Cardinals success.

Another reason for the Cardinals success has to be credited to the defense. The Cardinals are third in the NFL, allowing 15.3 points per game. They were able to shut down both the Patriots and Eagles, giving up just 24 total points en route to victories.

St. Louis on the other hand is trying to bounce back from one of the worst seasons in franchise history. They already matched their 2011 season mark of two wins, etching out the Seattle Seahawks and Washington Redskins.

The Rams have been able to stay competitive by forcing turnovers. They're second to only Chicago with eight interceptions.

Despite their victories, quarterback Sam Bradford, who has one of the lowest passer ratings in the league (80.1) placing him 22nd among starting quarterbacks this season. They've also seen limited production from running back Steven Jackson, who has rushed for 195 yards and no touchdowns this seasons.

The Rams are 2-0 at home and have a clear advantage with the short week. Arizona won its only road game of the season against the Patriots.

Arizona has dominated the Rams in recent years, winning 10 of the last 11 games, including sweeping the season series last season.
