The U-17 Women's World Cup's last match of the day will take place at 11 a.m. with Japan taking on Ghana in the quarterfinals.
It will be the speed and power of Ghana against the meticulous attacks from Japan.
Ghana surprised many coming out of the Group D standings on top. Jane Ayieyam led the way in the first stage of the World Cup with four goals. Priscilla Okyere had two goals and finished second in team for scoring.
Ghana went 2-1 in the tournament with two shutouts, but Germany defeated them 2-1 in the first match of the tournament. Ghana was able to blowout Uruguay 5-0 and then followed with a victroy over China 2-0 in the final game of the qualifiers to advance to the quarters.
Japan stormed by their first round in the 2012 Azerbaijan World Cup scoring an unprecedented 17 goals in their first three matchups.
How do you tally up 17 goals in a match?
Well, first of all you distribute the ball so well that your opponents do not know who is going to score.
The Japanese had 10 players in their team score a goal in the first round. They combined to score five against Brazil for the shutout. Then hit New Zealand with three for the shutout and then finished the first round by hammering Mexico with nine goals.
The Japanese did not allow a single goal in the first round. To say the least, Ghana has their work cut out for them.
