The Dallas Mavericks are looking at free agents like JaVale McGee, Carlos Boozer, Kevin Seraphin, Samuel Dalembert, Tyler Hansbrough and Elton Brand on the market after DeAndre Jordan signed back with the LA Clippers and this comes after the Mavs have brought in Zaza Pachulia in a trade and Deron Williams on a contract after his buyout from the Nets.
The Mavericks were reeling a bit from the Jordan move, but the team responded with Pachulia and now they could add more in free agency. According to Marc Stein at ESPN.com, the Mavs have interest in McGee, but he said that it is more "exploratory" than anything else. Stein added that the team is looking for "rim protection" and that Samuel Dalembert also could get a "fresh look" from the team. Pro Basketball Talk reports that Carlos Boozer and Kevin Seraphin are getting attention from the Mavericks as well as the LA Clippers.
McGee reportedly has had interest from the Clippers, but with Jordan going back to LA, there is a chance the team may not be looking at McGee anymore. McGee has potential as a shot blocker and front line defender, but his health has been a major issue and that is why the Mavericks likely have not jumped in yet. Former NBA exec Bobby Marks pointed out on Twitter that McGee has only played in 28 games in the past two seasons and that he has missed "100 games" while dealing with various injuries. The Mavericks took a hit with losing Jordan and while McGee could be an option, the chances of him playing half a season or a full season look very slim based on his past issues.

Stein reports that the Mavericks are looking into Elton Brand, Tyler Hansbrough and Carlos Boozer and that the team also has a meeting set with Dalembert. The team is interested in Seraphin, who is also getting looks from a number of other teams. According to Marc Spears at Yahoo Sports, Seraphin has interest from the Los Angeles Lakers, LA Clippers, Washington Wizards and Mavericks this offseason. Seraphin reportedly came into the offseason looking for a starting job, but at this point that is unlikely.
Seraphin was with the Wizards last season and Pro Basketball Talk writes that the team "would love" to have him back in a reserve role behind Marcin Gortat. Seraphin is getting interest elsewhere and if he wants playing time, the Mavs could be an option, but he likely will not be a starter. The Lakers are interested even after adding Roy Hibbert and Brandon Bass, while the Clippers may not pursue after getting back Jordan and making other moves.
Seraphin comes in after averaging 6.6 points and 3.6 rebounds per game in limited minutes and he played in 79 games for the Wizards. Stein reports that the Mavericks may look at Hansbrough or Brand on the market and they could be minimum contract options for the team. Hansbrough averaged three points and three rebounds last season or the raptors. Dalembert could be a fit to return to Dallas on a cheap deal, as he has a meeting set with the team after averaging four points and five rebounds per game last season in 32 games played.
