The San Francisco Giants will fight clash with the Cincinnati Reds in Games 3 of the National League Divisional Series for a chance to stay alive in their World Series pursuit at 5:37 p.m.ET.
The Giants lost Game 1 at home 5-2, then went down in a shutout Game 2 9-0 loss. Now if they plan to advance they will need to win three games in Cincinnati.
Ryan Vogelsong gets the start for the Giants in Game 3. Vogelsong went 14-9, posting a 3.37 ERA while setting career highs wight 31 starts, 189.2 innings pitched and 158 strike outs. In his two starts against Cincinnati but didn't earn a decision on either occasions.
Cincinnati Reds Manager Dusty Bakers has named Homer Bailey as the starter for Game 3.
Bailey is 4-8 with a 5.16 ERA at home and 9-2 with a 2.32 ERA on the road. Bailey also received no decision in his start against Cincinnati, allowing 3 runs and 7 hits in just six innings.
Bakers' decision to start Bailey was based on his cautiousness with Johnny Cueto.
Cueto left Game 1 of the NLDS with back spasms after throwing just eight pitches.
