ALDS Game 3 Tigers vs. Athletics Live Stream: Watch Free Online as Detroit Tries to Win Series

Oct 09, 2012 08:39 PM EDT

The Detroit Tigers are a win away from clinching a spot in the League Championship Series. Currently, they have the Oakland Athletics in an 0-2 hole. Game 3 begins at 9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. CT.

For the clinch, the Tigers will send Anibal Sanchez to the mound. He was very stingy in his last two starts, shutting down weaker opponents like the Minnesota Twins and Kansas City Royals. He gave up only one run in 15.1 innings pitch while striking out 14.

If there is anything positive going for the Athletics right now it is that they rocked Anibal when they faced him on September 20. They got five runs off of him in 5.2 innings pitched as they defeated him and the Tigers.

On the mound for the Athletics will be left-hander Brett Anderson. He was lights out in his six final starts of the season. However, he gave up eight runs in his last two starts over nine innings. In his last start he only lasted 2.1 innings and lost to these Tigers.

So who has the edge?

The Tigers have the momentum, but the A's have home field advantage as they were 50-31 at home.

Because Sanchez, who the Tigers got before the July 31 trade deadline, is currently the hotter pitcher and the Tigers have the advantage in this one.

Also, if the Tigers do not win tonight, the pressure will be on them to close out the series in Game 4.
