Cardinals vs. Nationals Live Stream: Watch Online as Either St. Louis or Washington Will Take Series Lead

Oct 10, 2012 12:32 PM EDT

The Washington Nationals and the St. Louis Cardinals will go head-to-head on Wednesday as one team will attempt to take the 2-1 advantage in the NLDS. First pitch will be right around 1 p.m. ET.

The Cardinals ace Chris Carpenter, will be on the mound as he will make only his fourth start this season. Though Carpenter has pitched well in his three starts, the Cardinals have not won when he is on the mound.

The Cardinals have not given their former ace enough run support scoring only five runs in these three starts.

However, if the Carlos Beltran, John Jay and Allen Craig combine to do what they did on Monday, then the Cardinals should be in good shape heading into Game 4 and will more than likely have a lead in the series.

Between the three hitters, they combined for seven of the 13 hits the Cardinals smacked off Nationals' pitching.

Speaking of Nationals pitching, on the mound for them will be Edwin Jackson, who went 10-11 this season with a 4.03 ERA. This season, Jackson was night and day against the Cardinals.

In the first game he pitched against them in 2012, he threw eight shutout innings and recorded 10 strikeouts in a win. But most recently, he gave up eight earned runs on on six hits and four walks, while just barely escaping the first inning.

It will be interesting to see which Jackson shows up today.

Game 3 will be a pivotal one for both teams as one of the two will be just one win away from moving on to the NLCS.
