The NFL has suspended Packers defensive tackle Letroy Guion for the first 3 games of the regular season.

Guion is being suspended for his offseason arrest but plans to make an appeal. Guion's arrest was made public when authorities seized more the $190,000 in cash and 357 grams of marijuana, and an unloaded gun. The Packers resigned Guion in March after his case was settled.

The Packers came to terms on a one year $2.75 million however with this latest incident his play will really have to be at a pro bowl level to guarantee another contract. If the suspension is not reduced Guion could lose three game checks or $480,331. Believe it or not Guion is suing to get his seized possessions back including $190,028.81 in cash and his 2015 Dodge Ram that is currently in police custody.

The Packers defense is predicated on having a strong defensive line and if Guion's suspension is upheld the Packers will be missing two of their starting defensive lineman for the beginning of the season. Datone Jones was suspended earlier in the offseason for violating the league's substance abuse policy. This suspension will cripple the Packers ability to apply pressure to opposing quarterbacks.
