New England Patriots Rumors: Jimmy Garoppolo Starts After Tom Brady Suspension Upheld? Is QB Ready To Handle Starting Job For Bill Belichick?

Jul 29, 2015 01:52 PM EDT

With the announcement the NFL will uphold the 4 game suspension of quarterback Tom Brady, the Patriots are scrambling to make preparations for their new signal caller Jimmy Garoppolo.  Garoppolo actually had a monster 2013 in college and scored over 50 touchdowns.

The Eastern Illinois University product will lead the charge for the Patriots going up against the Pittsburgh Steelers first. Garoppolo will need to score a lot of points in order for the Patriots to stand a chance against the high scoring Steelers. In week 2 they have their first AFC East divisional clash with the Buffalo Bills. The Bills will probably not score a ton of points however their defense will be playing lights out football; it will be a great test for the sophomore quarterback. The third game will be a reprieve against the always bad Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Jaguars have improved somewhat but the Patriots should still be able to dispatch them easily. In week 4 Garoppolo gets a bye week to rest and reflect, but in week 5 Garoppolo will play his biggest game to date.

The matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots is always exciting for football fans because the game itself happens so rarely. What makes this game even more unique is that Garoppolo will be playing another Eastern Illinois quarterback in Tony Romo. Garoppolo actually took down some of Romo's records; it will be interesting to see whether or not he can do it in the NFL.

That will mark the final game that the sophomore starts however if he plays well would the Patriots put Brady back in right away or would they ease him back in until his at midseason form. Garoppolo starting is like the movie Inception, there will be a lot of levels to what he will influence.

Garoppolo starting for the Patriots is his dream however it is also Tom Brady's nightmare. Brady will likely take his appeal to court, where a ton of NFL suspensions have been lifted. Brady's chances of starting may be looking slim but they are not completely over yet.
