NFL Free Agency News: Reggie Wayne Target For Cincinnati Bengals, New England Patriots, Indianapolis Colts, Dallas Cowboys?

Jul 30, 2015 12:58 PM EDT

Reggie Wayne is still a free agent looking for a home. At 36 years of age Wayne is not the most durable or fast wide receiver on the field at any given time, but he is still Reggie Wayne so it is not surprising a team would want to bring him in.

The Cincinnati Bengals are looking for a new wide receiver after it was announced that James Wright would miss the entire 2015 season. Wayne would probably be the third or fourth wide receiver in the Bengal's offense behind AJ Green, Marvin Jones, and even possibly Mohamed Sanu.

Wayne wants to catch on with a contender but the most likely contender he could be a part of is the Colts hated rivals the Patriots. The Bengals however are a good team with some championship caliber talent; the only problem is Wayne would be going from having Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck to Andy Dalton, which may not be the smoothest transition.

The main knock on Wayne as he entered his twilight years in the league was that he could not stay healthy so he would be a great fit for a team that already has enough wide receivers but can use his talents and what he has left in the tank sporadically. The main three teams I can think of that could use him and possibly win a title are the Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots, and Indianapolis Colts.
