The 49ers host the Giants in their Week 6 matchup as they hook up at 4:25 p.m. ET.
Both teams are tied for first place and the 49ers have the better record at 4-1, while the Giants are 3-2.
The 49ers have the top defense in the NFL while the Giants are posting the second most points in the league.
The Giants have the better quarterback and probably the better receiver in Victor Cruz, but the Niners have the advantage at the running back position with the always dangerous Frank Gore.
Also, the 49ers possess a better unit of receivers as Vernon Davis, the tight end, is a very dangerous player.
The Giants will get receiver Hakeem Nicks back today after reaggravating a foot injury.
Last week the Giants fell behind early against the Cleveland Browns. Eli Manning steppes it up and rallied his team back. Victor Cruz caught three TD passes despite only receiving 50 yards.
The 49ers simply destroyed the Buffalo Bills 45-3 last week.
They have stepped up as a unit after their surprise loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 3.
Prediction:
This could be considered the Giants' toughest matchup so far this season. Expect this to be a slow a gritty matchup if the Giants play defense. They have allowed just about 22 points a game.
I give the 49ers the edge 24-14.
