Sitting at a 2-3 record for the season, the Denver Broncos are in desperate need for a victory as the go on the road to face the San Diego Chargers for Monday Night Football at 8:30 p.m. ET.
This is an AFC West matchup that can affect how things will pan out by the playoffs. With a victory the Broncos can take control of the top spot in the division.
After a rough outing against Atlanta, Peyton Manning has settled down and played like one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.
Manning has thrown for eight touchdowns in his last three games and has more than 1,000 yards through the air at this point.
However, since Manning has elevated his play, the Broncos have lost two of their last three games against the Houston Texans and the New England Patriots.
Meanwhile, the Chargers come into the matchup with a 3-2 record to the season and in the last five games against the Broncos, they've emerged victorious four times, and head coach Norv Turner's teams are 4-1 against Manning when he was with the Indiannoplis Colts.
The Chargers will look to rely on their ground game as the Broncos have allowed 252 yards rushing in their last game against the Patriots.
Running back Ryan Mathews will look to improve his numbers from 80 yards in 12 attempts and a touchdown against the New Orleans Saints in Week 5.
