Houston Texans News and Rumors: Arian Foster’s Groin Injury Worse Than Previously Thought?

Aug 06, 2015 01:22 PM EDT

Arian Foster suffered a groin injury that is now being labeled as worse than previously thought.

The groin muscle has been torn off the bone which will require surgery. Dr. William Meyers will be performing Foster's surgery on Friday and is the same doctor who worked on Jadeveon Clowney. Foster is expected to miss two to three months so he should be rehabilitating by week 6 and back to practice by week 9 or 10.

Clowney seemingly has a soft tissue injury every year and always has a detrimental impact to the Texans as well as fantasy owners alike. Bob McNair had this to say about Foster's injury,

"Can't say I'm surprised, it seems like every year he's had a soft tissue injury. We keep our fingers crossed. He seems to be vulnerable to those types of things. We believe he'll come back this season and help us."

The Texans have expected Alfred Blue, Chris Polk and Jonathan Grimes to replace Foster however this is not the ideal situation. The Texans attempted to sign and are still talking to Pierre Thomas however Thomas's representatives feel as if he is worth more than the veteran minimum contract that the Texans offered. The Texans better act fast with whoever they choose because they are not the only team in Texas looking for a running back.
