Robert Lewandowski has been linked with almost every single big English Premier League club over the past couple of seasons, but come Tuesday, the Borussia Dortmund striker will have England firmly in his sights when Poland host Roy Hodgson's men in a World Cup Qualifier in Warsaw.

England will be buoyed after their 5-0 victory over San Marino, and will look to take complete control of their group with victory against a dangerous Polish side.

However, the English need to be wary of Poland's forward Lewandowski, who is capable of taking a half-chance even if he might not have found a way past Joe Hart when their clubs met in the Champions League.

"There is no doubt that England are the favorites, but we want to cause an upset and win," Lewandowski said. "I know it is going to be extremely difficult, but sometimes football is unpredictable.

"For example: I had more good chances against Manchester City than against theoretically weaker Hannover 96 in the subsequent Bundesliga game (he scored in a 1-1 draw). Maybe it will be the same on Tuesday -- maybe I will get chances and score."

England manager Hodgson, however, will have a selection headache of sorts -- Leighton Baines will challenge Ashley Cole for a starting berth at left-back, while the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Danny Welbeck will push the senior players for a spot in the first XI.

"There are quite a few (selection decisions) and that's good to have," Hodgson said. "I'd prefer not to quantify them or put them in any order, but it's good that the players who came in against San Marino who people did not see as first choice played well.

"You do get more a selection headache, but all coaches will tell you selection headaches are what we're after."

The youngsters for England have more often than not taken their chances whenever it has been handed to them, and Hodgson challenged them to keep performing, both for club and country.

"If they want to take over then they'll have to play very well because some of the experienced players are still very keen to play football at this level for as long as possible," Hodgson added.

"They'll have to make certain they are better than the ones who have been doing the job. It is nice to know we are producing some players now who will challenge, will continue to improve, will mature with time and the matches they can play.

"My only fear is the usual one of hoping these talents can get enough game time. It's always nice to have experience in your team and it's also quite nice sometimes to have some younger players in the team.

"Experience is important and we do have, at the moment, a good balance between youth and experience but the key tomorrow night is nothing more complicated than playing well."

Frank Lampard has been ruled out through injury, but Steven Gerrard returns to captain the side after missing the San Marino game through suspension. Poland will be without the services of their captain Jakub Blaszczykowski, with stand-in captain Marcin Wasilewski well aware of the enormity of Tuesday's game.

"Such a match against quality opposition is needed," Wasilewski said. "It is similar to a game we had against Portugal a few years ago. Everyone thought we would lose but we won, and it gave us the spur we needed to go on and qualify for the European Championship (in 2008).

"There is always additional emotion when it is England," he added. "Everyone watches the Premier League and everyone likes it."

Expected lineups: Poland: Tyton, Piszczek, Glik, Wasilewski, Wawrzyniak, Borysiuk, Mierzejewski, Krychowiak, Grosicki, Obraniak, Lewandowski

England: Hart, Cole, Jagielka, Cahill, Johnson, Carrick, Gerrard, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Rooney, Welbeck.

Prediction: 2-1 to England
