The NBA trade market could see some moves this summer, as Garrett Temple has emerged as a target for the Utah Jazz from the Wizards after the injury to Dante Exum and some other players that could get traded this year include Jose Calderon, Chris Andersen, Brandon Jennings, Jamal Crawford, Nick Young, Mario Chalmers, Eric Bledsoe and Jrue Holiday.
Reports have the Utah Jazz and Washington Wizards talking about a deal, as the Jazz have just lost Dante Exum to an ACL injury. According to Pro Basketball Talk, the Jazz are interested in Garrett Temple with the Wizards and Washington is reportedly open to making a deal. Jeff Zillgitt of USA Today reports that the Wizards are "not opposed" to making the trade and J. Michael of CSNWashington.com picked up on that and reports that Dez Wells could be in line for a deal if it happens.
The deal with the Jazz and the Wizards could happen soon and a report from CSN Washington has the Wizards looking to take back "either no salary" or a "non-guaranteed contract." If the team can create a trade exception they likely will go through with it, and they also may do it if they have a player they can waive, which would open things for Wells.
Exum could miss the season and now Temple could be a fit for the team to come in. The Jazz have a young team and they had expectations for Exum this season. There are some other trades that could happen this year as well, including Chris Andersen, Mario Chalmers, Nick Young, Erick Bledsoe, Jose Calderon and Jamal Crawford. The Miami Heat have shopped Andersen and Chalmers in the hopes of clearing cap space and they could be moved.
Crawford is having his role diminished in LA with all the Clippers moves and the Cavaliers are reportedly a solid fit for him. Crawford averaged 16 points per game last season and he could be a target for multiple teams. Jose Calderon could be a target at the deadline, as he is in the final year of his contract and the Knicks have Jerian Grant coming in as a rookie. The team has also shown interest in Norris Cole and that could signal they are willing to deal Calderon at some point.
The Pistons signed Reggie Jackson and it could only be a matter of time before Brandon Jennings is on the block. Miami is looking to cut costs and they are likely to make a move, while the Lakers have shopped Nick Young this offseason. The team did not find a deal they liked, but the Lakers are expected to push for a trade after already signing Lou Williams this offseason.
