--------------------------------Lineups coming soon-------------------------------------

The New York Yankees hopes are hanging on the threads as they face the Detroit Tigers in Game 4 of the ALCS.

The Yankees performance has been beyond disappointing. They barely got four runs in Game 1 as Ichiro and Raul Ibanez hit two-run home runs in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game.

In Game 2 they were shutout by Tigers pitching and in Game 3 they barely got on the board, but Eduardo Nunez made it a 2-1 game with a line drive shot off of Justin Verlander.

So add that together and it means the Yankees have scored five runs in the ninth inning of the ALCS, but zero runs in every other inning.

Joe Girardi's batting lineup failed him as he sat Alex Rodriguez and Nick Swisher. He placed speed at the bottom and tops of the lineups adding Brett Gardner as leadoff and Nunez as the ninth-place hitter.

Nunez was at short, Gardner was at left and Eric Chavez took over third base.

If anything, Girardi might have to consider placing Ichiro as his leadoff hitter or third place hitter since he went 2-4 in Game 3.

As for the Tigers, their offense has wasted numerous opportunities to score, especially the inning ending double play with the bases loaded hit by Miguel Cabrera.

They have to be more aggressive on the base pads and the third base coach must not take opportunities for granted.
