New York Yankees Trade Rumors: Alex Rodriguez On the Move to Miami Marlins?

Oct 17, 2012 06:14 PM EDT

The New York Yankees look ready to part ways with their slugger Alex Rodriguez. Rumors have been swirling of a deal being worked with the Miami Marlins.

Too bad the Los Angeles Dodgers already have third baseman or else they would probably be interested in alleviating the Yankees of this stress.

According to Wallace Matthews and Andrew Marchand, the Yankees' president Randy Levine and Marlins owner Jefferey Loria jokingly began having a conversation about A-Rod ending up in Miami.

Keith Olbermann reported this talk of trade on his MLB.com "Nerd Blog."

Yankees' General Manager Brian Cashman denied there being any talks of trades taking place concerning A-Rod.

Honestly though, would he admit they were interested in trading A-Rod? This would be a big distraction, especially for a team that is a game away from being eliminated from the playoffs and is struggling heavily.

Alex Rodriguez has been injured and struggled on offense all season long. Back in 2007 A-Rod opted out of his 10-year $250 million contract he had brought to the Bronx from Texas.

The Yankees gave him another 10-year contract, this time at the age of 32. He still has five years left in this contract and over $100 million left in his contract, $114 million to be exact.

The rumors, which were also mentioned on FOX prior to the beginning Game 3 of the NLCS between the San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals, had the Yankees absorbing about $90 million of the money left over.

The Yankees and A-Rod are epic for making deals in the middle of the World Series, let's see what happens in the 2012 offseason with this situation
