The San Francisco 49ers and Houston Texans are playing on the NFL preseason schedule on Saturday night from NRG Stadium at 8 pm ET and the game puts two teams looking to get to the playoffs in 2015 as players like Colin Kaepernick, Brian Hoyer, Alfred Blue and DeAndre Hopkins get into action.
The 49ers are coming into the season after a huge amount of changeover on the roster and Kaepernick is looking to get back on track after a down season. Kaepernick is looking to improve and without players like Mike Iupati, Frank Gore and Michael Crabtree on the roster, the team will have to find a way to click. Torrey Smith is taking over as the main WR and Carlos Hyde comes in as the top running back on the roster and he will have eyes on him this preseason.
The team opens up with the Texans on the road for the preseason and then the team plays against the Cowboys at home. The Denver Broncos and the San Diego Chargers are on the schedule as well and then the team opens the season with the Minnesota Vikings. The team goes on the road against the Steelers and Cardinals next on the schedule and then they will play the Packers at home. The Giants are on the road next and then the team plays against the Ravens and Seahawks in primetime.
The Rams are on the schedule on the road next and then the Niners will play against the Falcons and then against the Seahawks on the road. The team has the Cardinals and Bears next, while the Browns, Bengals, Lions and Rams finish things off. The Texans come in after some changes on the roster and Arian Foster's injury and that will put some attention on Alfred Blue on Saturday night.
Brian Hoyer will start for the team in the game on Saturday and the team also has Ryan Mallett competing for the starting job. The preseason schedule for the Texans has the Niners at home, while the Broncos, Saints and Cowboys are also on the schedule. The Texans open the season with the Chiefs before playing the Bucs, Falcons and Colts, while the Jaguars, Dolphins and Titans are next on the slate. The Bengals are next on the road for the Texans and then come the Jets, Saints, Bills, Patriots, Colts, Titans and Jaguars.
