The 2012 season just does not want to end for the New York Yankees. If they do not plan on winning a game in the ALCS mother nature at least let them live for an extra day as rain was scheduled to fall in Detroit against the Tigers.
Game 4 has been postponed until Thursday and will be scheduled to start at 4 p.m. ET/3 p.m. CT.
Everything seemed beautiful as far as weather. David Wells, Eckersley and Cal Ripken Jr. all mentioned how nice the weather was at 67 degrees, which is a pretty warm night in Detroit for October.
The first pitch was never thrown as meteorologists predicted rain to fall at around 8:15 p.m. ET. The rain never came. It was 9 p.m. ET and there was no rain falling.
Max Scherzer was warming up on the field throwing pitches, but the tarp was out and the fans were exiting the stadium.
The fans who were not able to enjoy Game 4 tonight, will be able to go to the stadium tomorrow and watch Game 5 with the same tickets.
Mother Nature also played around with the St. Louis Cardinals vs. San Francisco Giants matchup as the game was stopped in the bottom of the seventh. That game is expected to resume whenever the whether allows.
