New York Yankees Vs. Detroit Tigers Live Stream: Watch Online Game 4 Of The ALCS At 4:00 PM ET

Oct 18, 2012 03:37 PM EDT

Game 4 of the American League Championship Series between the New York Yankees and the Detroit Tigers was postponed Wednesday night because of the weather and was rescheduled for 4:00 p.m. ET on Thursday.

Fans in Detroit waited around for the 8:07 p.m. start to the game between the Yankees and Tigers, but right before 9:35, the league could no longer wait around. The announcement came from the league to postpone Game 4 after the game was delayed for about 90 minutes.

For the Yankees this means another day to think about the importance of a Game 4 in order to stay alive in their World Series quest.

Alex Rodriguez and Curtis Granderson were both expected to sit in the lineup, marking the second straight game that A-Rod would not be in the lineup for the Yankees.

Under the original schedule, ace CC Sabathia would have pitched Game 4 on Wednesday - he instead will pitch it Thursday - and would have had a chance to pitch Game 7 on short rest. With the postponement, Sabathia will be unavailable for that game.

Tigers' pitcher, Mark Scherzer will also get his chance at the mound Thursday.

The Tigers' right-hander was 4-0 with a 2.39 ERA in his previous five games - four starts - against New York, including two in the 2011 division series.
