The Cardinals are dealing with some major injuries as we enter the second half of the NFL preseason.
The Cardinals starting left guard and big free agent pickup Mike Iupati suffered a tear in his meniscus during practice to his left knee which will require surgery to repair.
Head coach Bruce Arians expects Iupati to miss 3-8 weeks of action which will hinder the Cardinals offensive line for the early part of the regular season. Iupati is also the Cardinals biggest/most expensive free agent pickup.
The Cardinals are already without another starter on that offensive line so running the ball in the early part of the season should be tough. Ted Larsen signed with the Cardinals in 2014 and has been a depth player ever since. On the other side of the ball for the Cardinals defensive lineman Corey Peters had to be carted off the field after tearing his left Achilles tendon.
This is a huge blow to a defense that already lost Darnell Dockett now the Cardinals will have to rely on fourth round pick, Rodney Gunter to help keep the defensive line stable. Peters was a replacement player who tore his right Achilles in 2013, so this is a damaging blow to his career.
