NFL Preseason Preview New Orleans Saints vs New England Patriots: Can Jimmy Garoppolo Improve? Will Khiry Robinson Step Up For CJ Spiller?

5 things to watch for....

1. Which running back will tote the rock for the Patriots this week?

The Patriots looked sharp running the ball in their first preseason game. Jonas Gray finished with 7 carries for 74 yards and a touchdown making him the early favorite to start while LeGarrette Blount is injured. James White had eight carries for only 12 yards however he did block effectively.

2. Which wide receivers will make their way into the Saints starting lineup?

Can Nick Toon crawl his way back from the abyss of the Saints depth chart? Currently Brandon Coleman has been beasting his way to the 3rd wide receiver position leaving Toon, Seantavius Jones, and Joseph and Josh Morgan fighting for playing time. Which receiver will win the battle?

3. With Spiller out for the entire preseason who will step up?

The Saints will look to Khiry Robinson to secure the number 3 running back spot however he could be challenged by Marcus Murphy or Tim Hightower in the passing game.

4. How will the Patriot's secondary perform?

Can the Super Bowl hero, Malcolm Butler step up to lead this defense? Bradley Fletcher looked poised and unlike the version of himself on the Eagles. Duron Harmon is providing nice depth for the safety position, so after giving up 20+ points in their first game expect the Patriot's secondary to come out swinging.

5. How will Jimmy Garoppolo play in his second preseason game?

Garoppolo had a shaky first start with the Patriots. Garoppolo went 20/30 for 159 yards and an interception which is not exactly what Patriots fans were hoping for. Now he has a chance to redeem himself and show the fan base that he can lead the Patriots whether or not Tom Brady is away.
