The Fighting Irish are off to a hot start and they will look to continue perfection as they take on (4-3) Brigham Young at 3:30 p.m. ET.
The Notre Dame squad understands that they cannot underestimate any team they play now and cannot let records dictate the way they view their challengers.
The BYU Cougars have yet to win a game against a ranked team. They played a close one versus #24 Boise State, losing 7-6. They were then trumped by #10 Oregon State 42-24 last week.
"Our kids turn on the film and look at BYU and go, 'that's a good football team,'" Coach Brian Kelly said. "We are not turning on the film and looking at a team where the kids go, 'oh, these guys can't play'. They are physical, play hard and play for four quarters."
"The coaches do a good job of keeping us humble and reminding us that it's not easy to win in college football and to take every game seriously," said tight end Tyler Eifert.
Look for the Irish to take their 2nd ranked defense on to the field and stop the Cougars. So far this season, Notre Dame has only given up, on average, 8.7 points a game. That's about three field goals per game. The Fighting Irish have only allowed three touchdowns all season long.
The #5 Irish will try to get their quarterback Everrett Golson on the field. He is questionable for Saturday's game after suffering a concussion last week. So far in the season Golson has racked up 968 yards with four touchdowns and three interceptions.
