New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin recently expressed his concern in regards to Victor Cruz's hamstring injury that has plagued him all offseason. Coughlin stated,
"Concerned? Yeah, because obviously there were a couple of slotted opportunities for him to practice. Yeah, yeah I am."
If Cruz is unable to play this means that the brunt of the defenses the Giants see in the NFL will focus all of their attention on Odell Beckham, forcing him out of the game. Cruz expressed his displeasure about his inability to help his teammate (Odell Beckham) during the Giants second preseason game,
"I was a little unhappy last week, I felt some of those DB's were gunning for him. It was sad to see that go down because I couldn't help him. I couldn't go out there on the field and run routes with him. I couldn't take some of the pressure off him and things like that."
Without Cruz the Giants offense will look a lot like it did in the Jaguars game however this is slightly reminiscent of the war of words currently going on with the Philadelphia Eagles and the Baltimore Ravens. If the Giants want to reach the playoffs they will need both of their star wide receivers healthy.
